The Human Services Council. (HSC) is committed to maintaining your trust and confidence. The following online privacy policy is intended to protect and secure the personally identifiable information (any information by which you can be identified) you provide to us online. In addition, HSC will not send you e-mail that you have not agreed to receive. We may periodically send you e-mail announcing news and event information. If you choose to supply your postal address in an online form, you may receive mailings from us as well.

No Sharing Of Personal Information

HSC never sells, rents, leases or exchanges your personal information with other organizations for their benefit. We do integrate with other software to help us organize and manage our donors, partners and other individuals. HSC assures you that the identity of all who contact us through this Web site will be kept confidential. HSC may occasionally send mailings on behalf of other organizations when their interests align with HSC.

Security

HSC is committed to ensuring the security of your personal information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the proper use of information, we have established and implemented appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. HSC uses Internet Encryption Software, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Protocol when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information. Any information you enter is encrypted at your browser, sent over the public Internet in encrypted form, and then de-encrypted at our server. Once we receive your credit card information, it is accessible only to a small number of trusted HSC employees who have been specially trained in processing this information.

From time to time, we may send a “cookie” to your computer. A cookie is a small piece of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. A cookie can’t read data off your hard drive or read cookie files created by other sites. Cookies do not damage your system. Donations Policy

We accept most major credit cards – Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express for donations. We use PayPal as our payment processor. All online orders are processed through a secure encryption to protect your credit card information during your online transaction. We do not store any payment information on our own systems. All prices and figures are listed in US Dollars.

Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of the Human Services Council. The  Human Services Council will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of the  Human Services Council.

No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardize the donor’s financial security.

The Human Services Council will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers to assist them in the process of making their donation.

The Human Services Council will accept donations of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of the Human Services Council.

Certain other gifts, real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner, must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised or liabilities they may pose for Human Services Council.

The Human Services Council will provide acknowledgments to donors meeting tax requirements for property received by the charity as a gift. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no value shall be ascribed to any receipt or other form of substantiation of a gift received by Human Services Council.<

The Human Services Council will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, the Human Services Council will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members with a need to know.

The Human Services Council will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders’ fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to the Human Services Council.
