Since 1944

Celebrating its 80th year, the Human Services Council (HSC) is a beacon of hope and support based in Norwalk, CT. Since 1944, we've been dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals in our community. Our mission is not just a statement, but a daily commitment to create lasting change. We believe that every person deserves compassion, respect, and the opportunity to reach their full potential. Through our hands-on approach and a genuine desire to uplift, we have become a trusted resource to educate, safeguard, and empower individuals to help them reach their full potential. Today, our five core programs identify and address critical issues – homelessness, senior living, child abuse, substance abuse, eduction, and the mental and physical health of children.

We Care Better

What sets us apart is our commitment to deliver genuine care and compassion. While some organizations may focus on meeting just the basic requirements, we go beyond. Treating individuals as family—like our own daughters, mothers, sisters, and brothers— we instill a sense of worth. We guide individuals to find themselves, fostering self-discovery, confidence and independence. Through respect and kindness, people realize their potential, rising to achieve more than they even they may have imagined.

Our Focus

Health, housing and education

We prioritize three pillars — Health, Housing and Education — to create impactful programs, empowering individuals and building a resilient, thriving community. We infuse all of our work with genuine care and compassion, reflecting our commitment to care better.
