As part of a long tradition of conducting a needs assessment of the community, the bi-annual Community Indicators report was released to the Norwalk Community in May of 2010. Through this report, HSC examined the current social health of the community to gain a better understanding of what services are in place, how they operate and what services are needed. Key community leaders worked together to identify current trends and gather new data. Over a six-month period, these individuals worked diligently on identifying sources, targeting data, interviewing key stakeholders and refining the information to create a document that can be utilized by the entire community. Thanks to a grant from the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County and the professional expertise of our Consultant, Mary Peniston, this Report was made possible at a very critical time.
